Bio
Associate Teaching Professor, Philosophy and Religious Studies
I have been at Iowa State since 2008, teaching global and domestic comparative religion, as well as African-American religious traditions. My work centers around the intertwined roles of religion and music. I published an article on Islam and Jazz in Africana traditions in 2010, and have given presentations on African-American Spirituals in Seventh-Day Adventism and the role of music in the Vodou tradition and regional and national conferences.
